The graduate of this major obtains the bachelor’s degree and is ready to begin a master’s degree course.
The studies prepare students both theoretically and practically to work as film directors, TV and radio directors. The graduates gain theoretical knowledge about the film, theatre and drama theory, culture, history of art, literary studies, music, art, philosophy, ethics and aesthetics. The students will also have practical knowledge about the directing of feature films and documentaries, writing screen plays, work with the actor, the film technique and film technology. Classes will involve the production of films, radio plays, television shows and advertisements. The graduate will obtain comprehensive knowledge about technical and organizational aspects of working in a film and theatre, as well as about basic rules of the management of cultural institutions. Studies in this major shape the ability of creative thinking and action, the ability of cooperation and management in the group. The graduate will be prepared to work as a director in films, television, radio, dramatic theatres, musical theatres and puppet theatres, as well as the adapter, screenwriter and playwright in the entertainment industry. The curriculum involves the elements of economic and legal knowledge which will allow students to work as managers in the artistic institutions.
The graduate of this major will acquire linguistic knowledge which will let him/her work in the international job market. The specially adjusted curriculum will make students familiarized with the audiovisual techniques used in the film, television and radio industry.
